Going to the farm...

Yesterday we went to Gallrein Farms in Shelbyville (about 30 minutes from our house). We had a great time picking strawberries and going to the petting zoo to feed the animals.

Alex enjoyed riding on the cart to the strawberry patch

This picture was taken last weekend but I thought it was a good picture of them together

It's summer...Abby's toes are now painted!! Since I lost my big toenail from running and I can't paint my nails I figured I would paint Abby's.

Going to the park...

Over the past couple days we have visited the 3 parks that are near our house (within walking distance). Alex loves the park and Abby is starting to realize how much fun it is to swing!

Abby driving...hold up Abby, I know you are growing fast but you can't drive for another 15 years!

Abby at 9 Months...

Abby was 9 months old a few days ago, I can't believe it, the time is flying by!! She is still the best baby in the world, sleeps 12+ hours each night, always happy, will entertain herself with toys, and eats anything that we give her (baby veggies & fruits, cheerios, graham crackers). She sometimes crawls on all fours but other times she will army crawl, she really wants to walk but doesn't have the balance.

Siblings...

Alex and Abby are so funny together, Abby just loves everything that Alex does, especially when he jumps on the bed! As you may have noticed Alex doesn't like to get his picture taken so it is a rare moment that I am able to capture a shot of the two of them together. Below is the best I could do of having them in the same picture. You can see how big Abby is getting, she is going to catch up with Alex with the way she is growing! She still isn't crawling on all 4's but she does an army crawl to get where she wants to go and she pulls up to everything!

Our house...

When we purchased our house 2 1/2 years ago it was a wreck! It was a rental home for a few years before we got it and we did a lot of work to it, all new floors, painted the entire house, new kitchen, new vanities in the bathrooms, new french doors in the back, cleaned, cleaned, cleaned and cleaned some more. I don't know how anyone could have lived in that kind of filth. Anyways, we had focused on the inside of the house up until a few months ago when we moved outside and had the trim, doors and shutters painted, put up new gutters, got all new windows and then the last thing to do was the landscaping. It needed major help, to say the least, but JB took on this project and did such a great job, I love all the plants he planted and the stone edging he used. It took several weeks to complete but it looks awesome, great job honey!!!

Neena & Pop-Pop's visit...

Neena & Pop-Pop came to visit for a few days and we had such a good time! The weather was beautiful on Tuesday so we just hung out outside and around the house, and Pop-Pop planted our garden for us...thank you Pop-Pop, I'm so glad we are going to have tomatoes, peppers and squash this summer!!! On Wednesday we went out to lunch and then we went to the Bodies Human exhibit at Mellwood Arts Center, ate ice cream and then went to El Nopal for dinner. They left this morning and we miss them already!

The garden that Pop-Pop made for us...this was my job and I kept putting it off and then my Dad said he would work on it. It took all day to get all the grass up and then plant all the plants...thank you Dad! I love you!

Springtime...

Ashley (our neighbor) shared her capri sun with Abby...Abby can't drink out of a straw but she wanted the drink so bad!

Happy Mother's Day...

We had a wonderful day today! The weather was gorgeous so we cooked out for JB's parents, Aunt Jen & Uncle Steve and then went to Churchill Downs to watch the horses. Alex had a great time watching the horses run and was able to pet a horse and thought that was great fun. Abby was good, but she was tired since we went when she would have been taking her afternoon nap. She fell asleep in Jen's arms and was able to sleep for a little bit while we hung out around the paddock area to watch the last race that we planned on staying for. Overall, it was a great Mother's day, on Tuesday my Mom & Dad will be in town so that will be great fun...we will get to celebrate again!
Alex was having a great time playing on this stage with all the other kids, it was hard to get a picture of him since he wouldn't stand still

Carefree...

We spent some time outside after work/daycare today, it was beautiful and sunny. JB showed Alex how to roll down the hill in our front yard, he was having so much fun...gotta love that big smile of his! The video is very short as I only caught the tail end, I'm sure he will do this many times when we are outside so I will be able to get a better video (the screaming is Abby in the background, I guess she was cheering for him)

Derby...

We went to a Derby party at our friends Rob & Leah's house. We had a great time...too bad we didn't bet on Mine that Bird! Abby never falls asleep in my arms but she was so tired she dozed off and slept for almost an hour while I was holding her on Derby day at the party (see picture below).
Abby loves her crib...when it is bed time all we have to do is lay her in her crib and she will fall asleep on her own, no rocking or anything, such a good baby!
