First Visit to Churchhill Downs...

We had a busy weekend! Alex had his first visit to Churchill Downs and had a wonderful time! The weather was absolutely beautiful, and Alex loves being outside so it made for a great day! In one of the races there was a horse named "My Pal Alex". Of course, we had to bet on him, and he came in first, but there was an inquiry and we found out that he bumped another horse during the race, so they penalized him and gave him second place, we were upset about that but luckily JB had bet on the winning horse as well, so we did okay. After visiting the track, we went to Carrie, Sean & Savannah's house for a cookout. We had a wonderful time with our friends and enjoyed the weather some more. The weekends are just too short, I can't beleive tomorrow is already the start to another work week.

So tired!

Time has been flying by, it has been a week since my last post! We had a wonderful weekend. Alex spent most of the day Saturday with JB's Mom (she hasn't decided on a nickname yet). JB and I went to Thunder over Louisville, which is part of the Derby Festival, it is on the waterfront with an air show and large fireworks display.
Alex has been congested so we took him to the doctor yesterday, and found out that he has a sinus infection. He is on anitbiotics, so hopefully it will clear up quickly. They did weigh him, and we weighs 12 lbs 6 oz. Maybe it will help him sleep more once the congestion clears up...or is that wishful thinking??
Alex seems to enjoy daycare. The teachers told me today that when he was doing tummy time yesterday he was holding hands with a little girl in his class who was also on her tummy. There are 10 children in his class, 4 eight month olds, 4 seven month olds, and two 3 month olds (Alex and the little girl he was holding hands with).

He is getting so strong, he is sitting up much better in the bumbo, and now likes to hold onto and reach for things that are in front of him. He thoroughly enjoys his bright colored toys and will carry on an entire conversation with them! He has definitely found his voice, and loves to talk to anyone and anything!

No luck with sleeping more than 3 hours last night. Alex was up most of the night, all he wanted was to be held!

Alex is 12 weeks old...time flies!!! Everyone says 12 weeks is a turning point and he will start sleeping better at night, we sure hope so! He is still on a 3 hour schedule, so we get up at least twice a night. We hope that changes soon!

We had a good Easter at Nana and PaPaw's house (JB's parents).
We have found out that Alex LOVES watching television. We went out to dinner on Saturday and he was fussy every time I held him since he couldn't see the TV. He was able to see the TV when JB held him and would just stare at it, it was funny!! This morning I was trying to get ready for work and he was a bit fussy until I turned on Playhouse Disney, then he was very interested in the television, and all his fussiness went away!! Alex in his bumbo seat...it helps him sit up, since he can't sit up on his own yet.

Alex slept 5 hours on Saturday night, but was back to his three hour schedule last night, so he was up twice. I guess we are slowly making progress...we are looking forward to the nights when we only have to get up once!!
We had a busy weekend and got a lot done around the house. JB cleaned out the gutters and worked in the yard, he is determined to have beautiful grass, and it is well on its way!! I finally caught up on laundry and cleaned the inside of the house, it is nice to have that done. We spent a good amount of time outside, all that fresh air wore Alex out!!
Clyde is doing great!! I think it is a mircale, but this weekend he was running the neighborhood with the dogs across the street. He did get a bit clumsy after 15 minutes of running around, but he was definitely having a great time. We are glad that he is getting back to the way he used to be, and pray that he doesn't have any more problems with his back.
