Bats Game...

Alex's baseball team was able to go onto the Louisville Slugger field during the National Anthem before the Bats game.  It was an experience they won't soon forget, so much fun for the kids to get out there on that big field.  Thank you to Coach Matt for making this happen!

Journal Entry by Alex for 5-23-13:
I love my Mom.
My Mom is pretty.
She has good smelling hair.

I love that kid!

A Mothers work is never done....

Alex is in a reading tutoring class which is held at a local church and during the 45 minutes he is being tutored Abby and I get to play in the kids area.  Abby loves her baby dolls, here she is just singing away while caring for her baby....so cute!

Fun times at the splash ground...

The first weekend where it felt like Summer, it was wonderful!  It was hot and humid and we cooled off by going to the splash ground.  The water was cold but the kids enjoyed every minute.  We also played a lot of baseball outside and enjoyed the beginning of what is going to be a wonderful Summer.   We can't wait for the pools to open!

Abby mastered pumping her legs while swinging, now I can sit back and relax as they swing away

12 days of school left....hard to believe Alex's first year of school is almost over.  Time can slow down at any time!
Abby was wiped out after such a fun weekend.  She fell asleep on the couch at 7, and slept the entire night.

Abby's Pre-School Graduation

It's hard to believe Abby is entering Kindergarten in August (a day before her 5th birthday).  She is such a smart cookie, I can't wait to see how much she learns in the next year.  Love these kids!

Baseball Pictures...

We had baseball/teeball pictures on Saturday.  Here are a few I snapped with my phone, the professional ones should arrive in a few weeks.

Sneaky boy....

I picked up Alex from the bus stop yesterday and he proudly showed me his hand print in clay that he picked out the colors for and painted himself and then said he was on the color blue (which is good) so we got in the car to pick up Abby and in the back seat I heard a piece of paper being crumbled up and then it was thrown out the window.  I stopped the car, made him get out and get the piece of paper since littering is unacceptable and he got out and kicked the paper in to someone's yard.  After being stern with him he finally picked up the paper threw it in the car and got in his seat.  At this time I went to see what it was that he was trying to get rid of....

...It was a note that says "Dear mam, I scremd in the hollway.  Im sre.  Lve Alex"  We had a discussion about acceptable vs. unacceptable behavior at school and he said he wouldn't scream in the hallway again, but it was hard to contain my smirk at the thought of him trying to get rid of the evidence.  We have one sneaky boy, and he's only in Kindergarten.  Someone said to me when I was pregnant that God will only give you what you can handle, and all I continually say is that he must think I can handle a lot, since Alex is always keeping us on our toes.

Alex with his hand print, he was so proud

Finally Spring has arrived!

Distillery...

We went on a ghost tour at Buffalo Trace distillery and we didn't see any ghosts, but we did have a great time learning about the history and process of bourbon.

The date on this barrel is Alex's birthday

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day!  The highlight of my weekend was Alex yelling out "Mommy, I love you!" while he was playing catcher in the middle of his baseball game.  It was so cute!  I love these kids!
