I have a dimple!

The doctors visit wore him out!

Alex knows how to keep the pacifier in his mouth!

Last night was a much better night, Alex slept four hours straight and woke up to eat and went right back to bed, and slept another three hours! So tired!

Clyde has been adjusting well to the new member of the family. He doesn't like when Alex cries and tries to help out by giving Alex a few doggy nudges...very sweet!

We were up most of the night last night, so I found this photo fitting, since he was a good napper today! Hopefully he will sleep as well tonight as he did during the day today.

Good news...Alex's bilirubin levels have decreased significantly so he no longer needs to be under photolight therapy. He did enjoy his 2 days in the "tanning bed" (see picture below), but we are glad he didn't have use it any longer. I can't believe he is already a week old...time flies!! Alex's Pop-Pop (Colleen's Dad) came to visit from Virginia.

Alex took to the photo light therapy wonderfully (I think he actually likes it)! His bilirubin levels have already dropped and the doctor wants to take him off the machine, since he thinks Alex's body is processing the bilirubin better than he expected. Hopefully his levels won't rebound, the nurse will come tomorrow morning to check them.

Here is the link from the hospital

Today we went on our first pediatrician visit. The visit went well, but they did find that Alex's bilirubin levels were high (jaundice). He is now on photo light therapy. It is a machine that they brought to the house that he sleeps in whenever he is not being fed (it looks like a miniature tanning bed). They think he will have to use it for the next 4-5 days. It is already hard not being able to hold him whenever we want to, since we hadn't put him down much since we have been home from the hospital. He is taking to it considerably well, so hopefully we will get rid of his jaundice in less time than the doctors think...keep your fingers crossed! Proud Daddy

Alex William arrived January 18th at 10:26 pm. Weighing a healthy 8lbs 3 oz. We are so excited he has arrived and look forward to beginning our life as a family of three.
Getting ready to go home from the hospital...
J.B.'s parents ordered a stork for our yard

Then there were three...

This was taken after he had eaten and was wide awake! He has been such a good baby. Once he is full and has a clean diaper, he will go 3+ hours before waking up again.

All snuggled up!

39 weeks...went to the doctor yesterday. It looks like Alex is in no hurry to come into the real world. I go to the doctor again next Tuesday, and at that time they will schedule me to be induced, most likely on the 23rd (1 week later). I will keep you posted, hopefully he will make his grand entrance before then!

I went to the doctor last Tuesday, and still no progress. It looks like Alex is having a good time just hanging out where it is warm, even though he is definitely running out of room! I go to the doctor again tomorrow, so we will see what they have to say. If we pass our due date, then the doctor says I will be induced on January 23rd (1 week after my original due date).
