3 years old, 30 lbs, 36 inches tall...

Alex had his well-check visit at the doctor yesterday and checked out great! He is in the 25th percentile for height and weight and is developing on target for a 3 year old. He showed the doctor how well he can run around, jump up and down, talk in sentences and turn the light on and off (this was not part of the exam...for some reason our doctors office has the light switches really low on the wall, it is quite annoying since he wants to turn them on and off repeatedly while we are there). No shots this time around, so that was nice, and at the end he told me his "faborite" sucker is orange...so that is what he got!
It was a nice day so we went to the park and then walked the Papa John Trail for a little bit and enjoyed being outside.

Running...so fast!

Alex's 3rd Birthday Party...

It is hard to believe that Alex is going to be 3 tomorrow, time is flying by! We had a small celebration at our house with Mamaw and Papaw and a few good friends and neighbors. It was a good time and Alex enjoyed playing with everyone, even if all of his friends are all girls! The birthday celebration will continue next weekend when we go to Georgia to see my family.

Cars cake that Alex picked out
Candyland, a right of passage to three years old...Thank you Mamaw and Papaw

A big thank you hug to Mamaw and Papaw

Big cars...the only thing he asked for. Our house is becoming over run by cars, but I guess that is part of being a boy. Luckily, Alex shares his cars with Abby (for the most part) since she enjoys playing with them just as much as him.

Even Clyde was in on the happy birthday singing

Big smiles from Abby

Bounce, Bounce, Bounce...

I took the kids to Pump it Up last week since they are starting to get burnt out on All About Kids. They had a good time and I met some nice ladies to chat with and I was successful at wearing them out, so I was glad about that! Then we had Alex's best friend, Liam's birthday party at Kazoing! another bounce place and fun was had by all! Liam's Dad, Liam and Alex

Pure joy on Alex's face after jumping

"we all fall down"

This picture is funny since it really looks like Abby is dancing and having a great time...which she probably was

My hair is getting so long...

Abby's hair is finally long enough to put a little ponytail in it, it is so cute! I wish she would leave it alone, but she doesn't and it only stays in for a couple minutes, at most!

Having a big brother like Alex is always an adventure...

The other day I caught Alex coloring Abby's face with washable marker. Abby seemed to enjoy the attention from her older brother since she was laughing the entire time, I didn't think it was so funny so Alex got to visit the corner for a couple minutes.

Alex sledding...

Thank you to Mamaw and Papaw for getting a sled for Alex and gloves and boots for Abby! We had a great time playing in the snow, Alex thoroughly enjoyed sledding down the driveway. It is a good think our driveway slopes back up at the end so it stopped him from going into the street.

Snow...

It snowed here yesterday, about 3 inches, enough to have fun!! Alex loved being outside and even knew how to make snowballs, then proceeded to throw one at Abby, she wasn't very happy!! Today when we got home Alex wanted to get bundled up again and help Daddy shovel the driveway, they did a great job!

Abby took ALL the books off the bookshelf and was having a blast "reading" them
Look who I found in the corner...Abby must have put "Baby" in a timeout. She is so funny!

Happy New Year....

Happy New Year!!! Hopefully everyone is making the best of 2010 so far, I know we are! What does 2010 hold for the Hickmans?? Well, for starters I have begun my training for the Disney Princess Half Marathon in March, I am so excited to have a weekend with the girls, and excited to get into better shape! JB has decided he is going to run the Derby mini marathon this year, I am going to pass on that one since I really want to run the Country Music Half Marathon in Nashville that same day (April 24th), Hannah at work asked if I want to run it and I have only heard good things about it, so it should be a good time. Anyone else want to participate? Email me, the more the merrier!! We are planning on going back to Hilton Head in November with JB's family, and plan on spending a few days with my family the end of January to celebrate the Holidays (haven't celebrated Christmas with them yet) as well as lots of family birthdays, including Alex's....he is going to be 3!!!! Where does the time go? Hard to believe my baby boy is going to be three!

Alex was busy filling his shopping cart with all the cans from the pantry

Abby always runs to the rocking chair in her room when I get her dressed in the morning. She rocks herself and sings Rock a Bye Baby...too cute!!!
