Happy Easter!

Happy Easter!! We had a great Easter Sunday. The kids woke up to the Easter Bunny bringing them some great stuff, markers, bunny ears, bubbles, hot wheels cars, and candy! We had an Easter egg hunt with the neighbors, then dyed eggs, then went to Aunt Donna and Uncle Kelly's house for another Easter egg hunt and a great dinner with family.

Yum, chocolate! Abby put the entire mini Hershey bar in her mouth, she LOVES chocolate!

The Zoo and more outdoor fun...

I LOVE this warm weather! I hope it is here to stay. Since last week we couldn't go anywhere since Abby wasn't feeling well, and next week is spring break for the schools here, I decided we better get out and do some fun things this week and lucky for us the weather was awesome these past two days! On Monday it was a bit cold so we decided to go to All About Kids and let the kids let loose, on Tuesday we had a picnic with some friends at a local park and the kids had a blast playing, and today we went to the Zoo!! It was gorgeous today, 78 degrees was the high but there was a nice cool breeze all day long. Needless to say, I am worn out and ready for a couple days of work.
Since it was such a nice day I decided to try to get some Easter pictures of the kids and a few came out, but none of them together that are spectacular. The ages they are makes it very difficult to get a good shot of them both at the same time.
The best one of them together...one of these days I will get a good one of them both smiling!

Love the dimples!

Do you see the baby Gorilla? She is in her mothers lap....so cute!!

The annual pictures at the Gorilla exhibit. Now that we have a season pass (thank you Carrie & Kelly) we will be going often so I am sure you will see more of these pictures on the blog. Hopefully one of Abby actually looking at the camera!

These were taken the other day when it was still cool out

Soccer...

Alex is signed up for soccer and today was orientation/picture day. Alex is on the yellow team. He is disappointed he didn't get to actually play soccer and told me in the car after I asked him if he is exciting about playing that he wasn't since he didn't "get to kick the ball in the grass". So cute!

Alex's shirt is so big it almost looks like a dress.

Waiting to get the team picture taken

Neena came to visit...

Neena came to visit and to attend a dog agility show and a dog training seminar. We had a great time. Unfortunately, Abby started feeling bad the one day that she was able to spend all day with us, so we ended up staying in and just hanging out. It was a nice relaxing day, but I wish we could have had a bit more fun during her visit.

You can see in this picture that Abby wasn't happy. After three days of fevers we took her to the doctor to be sure it wasn't something serious all to find out it was a virus (thankfully). It lasted for almost a week, but she is starting to feel better today so I am glad about that.

It's warming up...

I love spring! The weather is starting to warm up, the flowers are starting to bloom...life is about to be fun again while we spend lots of time outside!

Running! So happy!

Mom, there is dirt on my hand....get it off!

Since our basement is in the process of getting finished we no longer have the luxury of being able to go "jump" in the basement. I set the bounce house up outside last weekend and the kids had a blast. I have a feeling I will be doing that a lot since the weather is getting warmer.

Enjoying the swingset

A video of Alex showing us his somersault...I was impressed!

Abby's 18 month well check visit...

We went to the doctor today for Abby's 18 month well-check visit, here are her stats:
Weight 24 lbs 14.2 oz (50-75th percentile)
Height 32 1/2 inches tall (50-75th percentile)
Head 90th percentile
She checked out great! She got two vaccines and won't have to go back until she is 2...woo hoo!! She is such a wonderful little girl, she sleeps great, eats great, and is overall a happy little girl. We love you!!

Abby's rosy red cheeks...thanks to the cold weather and being chapped! We have tried everything to cure the redness but it just seems to keep coming back. A nurse said to use vitamin E so we will be trying that. She LOVES to carry purses and push her baby dolls in the stoller, it is hard to believe she is only 18 months old sometimes she seems to act much older.

Sibling love...

Disney...

I went to Disney World to run the Princess Half Marathon last weekend and we had a great time. The kids stayed home with JB so I was able to get away for a couple days and spend some fun times with some good friends. We managed to visit Epcot, Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom and also run 13.1 miles, and walk much more than that throughout the parks! Overall, it was a great time, but I think I am done with running that distance, it just kills my knees! I will run for fun but only a couple miles at at a time.
I also realized how much work it would have been if we had made it a family trip and took the kids with us. There is no way it would be any type of vacation trying to lug around two kids, a stroller and all the items that go along with it. Maybe when they are older (I'm thinking older than 7) we will make the trip but we have awhile to consider that journey!

Sheri and I before the race, this was taken at about 4am. The race started at 6am but we had to be on the bus by 4am!

Crafty...

I wanted to put up curtains in Alex's room and when I couldn't find any I liked I decided to make my own. My Mom swore it would be easy (she is so much more crafty than I am) and it wasn't too bad. I like how they came out. Alex likes his new curtains as well!

Here is the end product of our piggy bank painting. I think Alex's came out pretty good, he did it all on his own. Abby had a bit of help with the polka dots. Now they just have to fill them up...be ready to offer up any "pennies" you may have so they can accomplish this task :-)
